Google earth gets very Intrusive

Google has released the newest part of  its Google earth extravaganza “ street view “ that will literally put some people on a street they are looking for. This Internet big brother tool has some worried that Google may have gone to far to fast.  The uses of this new service seem to boggle the mind. In advances stages if there are enough webcams police and others can do surveillance over the net very easily. People may be able to follow other people around on the camera from across the world. There doesn’t seem to be any real way to stop these webcams as they are all webcaming things in public.

Nonetheless there are bound to be lawsuits as to the apparent extreme intrusiveness of this new service. As with many Google products the hype about the problem may add to the Google hype that will push the product.

You can all discuss this all at a Google Groups page http://groups.google.com/group/sem-professionals
