The Rock is rocking.

Never has interest been greater in the former maximum security prison, Alcatraz. The rock as it was called housed some of the most notorious criminals that included “Scarface” Capone, George “Machine Gun” Kelly, and Robert Stroud “ the birdman of Alcatraz”

People are literally obsessed with prisons and prison life and the most colorful prison of them all had to have been Alcatraz. Until now the prison has been less accessible for  tourists  as parts of the prison complex were declared out of  bounds. Elevators have been installed and new walkways have been added to improve accessibility to all parts of the Island.

Now everyone can walk down “ Broadway “ the hallway that separated the main ceel blocks. They can stretch in the big yard where the worst of the worst walked and talked and schemed to escape. A man was not meant to be locked up and the concept of forced incarceration has intrigued and scared people for a while. If you visit Alcatraz you can maybe feel a little what it was like to be in prison. Just a little.
