Violence continues unabated in the Middle East

Violence continues unabated in Lebanon and the Gaza strip.

Things seem to be getting worse not better both on the Northern and Southern border of Israel. An Israeli woman was killed yesterday and some suspected rocket launchers were targeted by the Israeli army. The Israeli prime minister was quoted as saying that he sees no magical solution to the missile attacks on Israelis. This  same prime minister who so embraced a unilateral pullout from Aza that included forcible removal of settlers . The justification that then minister Olmert gave was that security would improve when Israel would completely be out of Aza .The Prime ministers word were not much solace for the embattled town of Sederot as people were coming to grips with living under an almost constant missile barrage. The situation in the Gaza strip is dire for the Arab populace  as the town has become a combat zone between rivaling factions this coupled with retaliatory strikes on suspected terrorists by Israel has kept everyone off the streets.

Most observers agree that the Israeli Army is preparing for a massive incursion into the Gaza strip. This will likely happen if there is an escalation in the cross border violence that results in significant casualties.. The Hamas and Jihad Islami from there side have promised suicide attacks inside Israel in retaliation for the targeting of their members.

Israel is also keeping a close eye on the volatile situation in Lebanon that may spill over into Israel if a full scale incursion goes forward into the Gaza strip.

Things will only get worse before they get better if they get better.
