Complete anarchy has apparently taken over the Palestinian authority
Extreme fighting has left scores of dead among the presidential guard of Palestinian President Machmoud Abas. This Chaos has not surprised many observers as anarchy was predicted after Israel withdrawal from the Gaza strip. The Palestinian interior minister’s resignation has created a black hole of leadership that apparently is spelling the end to the Palestinian authorities rule. Some are calling this a military overthrow that would give the Hamas complete control over everything in the Palestinian authority.
All these developments are bringing the the Hamas and Israel to unavoidable conflict. This bloody war that is sure to bring in the Hezbollah from the north to try to open up a two front war. Something that Israel would like to avoid.
American and European attempts to strengthen more moderate Elements in the Palestinian authority have proven futile as the Hamas has become brazen in its attacks.
What now?
Israelis beleaguered government will be forced to take action as the violence in the Gaza Strip is sure to spill over the Israeli border very soon.
There may be some bitter Irony in all this as far as Israel is concerned as the Jewish State is marking forty years since the six day war. This war also saw the Gaza strip go under Israeli control ending terrorist forays across the border.It seems very clear that history will repeat itself.
