Once again the annual Israel Day parade was held in Manahattan or as some like calling it, the big apple.

The two mayors of New York walked side by side leaders the paraders down 5th avenue. Many Jewsih schools and organizations were in attendance. There were floats sponsered by EL-AL the national airline carrier of Israel and Flatbush Yeshivah to name a few. Police estimates put the number of participants at over 100,000 people.

As usual a contingent of virulent anti-Israel protesters was present which included the ultra-Orthodox fringe group called the Neturie-Karta. These extremists have gained notoriety as a surrealistic spectacle in many demonstrations against Israel. People are literally astounded when seeing these ethnically looking Jews rallying against Israel often with Israel’s worst enemies.
