Washington
The national rifle association has issued a statement opposing the limitation of gun permits to suspected terrorists. The NRA has gone to far. A sovereign government has the right to limit within reason certain privileges if there is some doubt that not acting will compromise national security. The NRA fears that these infringements will lead to more draconian measures, widespread outlaw of firearms. The fear of the NRA seems draconian and paranoid as this limitation should be supervised under court order to avoid complete arbitrary actions. The gun lobby is quite strong in Washington, nonetheless this sounds like something the lobby will have trouble convincing. it just doesn’t make sense. |
