Israeli Jeep is apparently blown up by terrorists on Gaza border The exact area of the attack is the Keesufeem border crossing which have handled massive food shipments into impoverished Gaza. These food shipments comprised of aid from various charity organizations are trying to alleviate extreme humanitarian conditions in the strip. Israel has allowed these shipments despite being at war with Hamas governed Gaza. The Terrorists who planted the bombs had apparently taken advantage of these border cross shipments and somehow placed the bomb where it could do the most damage. Israel is in a difficult position with regard to food shipments. If the Jewish state does not allow the shipments it will bring the wrath of the international community upon itself. If the shipments are allowed possible security breaches will endanger Israeli soldiers.
The Israeli army has not commented on the apparent incident that has been reported in Reuters Yahoo and other news agencies. If this incident occurred which seems likely and all occupants of an Israeli Jeep were killed it will take a while for the Israeli military to officially comment on casualties or worse of its military personnel. Comments before immediate families are informed would bring extreme anxiety to any military family that has members serving in the area of the alleged incident. The problem with this policy is the anxiety is created anyway because of rumors and leaks to the press. Everybody that has anything to do with this incident has heard the rumors and started to anguish over the grim possibilities.
The Hamas that took control of the strip from the rival Fatah movement has diverted all its energies to procuring weapons in fighting the Israelis. This has brought the residents of Gaza to almost completely depend on outside aid to survive. Israel would be the only country in memory that would allow supplies into a region that is attacking it. In this case the border crossing itself has been attacked with dire consequences.
