Olmerts government may fall soon

The leader of the free world President George W. Bush is to start his official visit to Israel and PA controlled areas. His Presidency has entered its last year and clearly lacks any real clout to advance any deal between the Israelis and the PA. His record on foreign policy is not a good one. He has wasted the huge opportunity to advance The United States interest since 9/11. He has brought the US into the wrong war against Iraq and not Iran. The former though a huge nuisance really never had Nuclear weapons and was not a grave danger to the world. Iran on the other hand will have nuclear weapons soon that will put Israel and the west in peril. The War in Afghanistan against El-Quadia  has proved inconclusive and Pakistan may fall to Moslem extremists very soon. He has tried to force Israel and the PA to negotiate when the differences are so great that failure is a foregone conclusion. His policies will bring down the Israeli government very soon as the main parties in Olmerts Coalition are set to bolt if negotiations on key issues start. What then is this trip about?

Both Olmert and the head of the PA are beleaguered leaders who need to be seen with Bush. Bush can provide that.

To bad he can provide little else.
