Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal of Saudi Arabia buys 400 million dollar plane
Prince to buy A380 as fellow countrymen and most of Arab world destitute. Over 75 million arabs in the middle east and Africa are living on less than 2 dollars a day while Prince Alwaleed bin Talal is to spend over 400 million dollars on the biggest most lavish plane in the world. Its all a bit much. For many Saudi families, a typical kitchen has a hot plate, with pans and bags of rice scattered on the floor, living rooms serve double duty as sleeping quarters in apartments that are seldom larger than three rooms. Large cockroaches are visible everywhere, and visitors who venture into the rubble-strewn streets are often swamped by beggars. A full 30% of the population lives below the poverty line. In Egypt one of the better off Arab countries a study by the Cairo-based Centre for Rural Studies found that an estimated five million Egyptians – in a population of 80 million had no access to potable water. The real truth is that those than can afford it drink only bottled water while the rest boil water from the fetid Nile river. The vast majority of people in Egypt have no access to clean water. This is the norm in Arab countries. The squalor and poverty are often extreme and widespread where a tiny percent at the very top are rich beyond anyone’s imagination. It is no wonder that fundamentalist Islam has taken hold in the Arab world in such a big way. The good prince will have his new jet ( he already owns a jumbo ) outfitted with spacious bedrooms on the plane's upper deck, separated by a reception area and a bar next to central stairway. The master bedroom could include an office, private dining room and a gym featuring a steam bath exercise machines and jacuzzi. The lower decks might feature a lounge-type quarters equipped with a conference area and dining room. A third level, could be transformed into a state of the art cinema and internet center. The plane will need 15 fulltime crew members for operation and could fly non-stop for 15,200 kilometers. Its cruising speed is just under mach 1. ( mach .85) . I guess he can give his old plane to his son or one of his wives. Lets hope the good prince has drinkable water. . |
