If summit happens so will rocket attacks on southern Israel

Hamas in Gaza strip plan rocket offensive.

The more radical Hamas governing in the Gaza strip is planning some surprises for the participants of the Annapolis conference. If it ever happens that is. There is a lot of motivation on the part of the Hamas to disrupt the Summit.

They were snubbed from the summit and perceive Palestinian interests being hurt .They will show up at the summit in a different way, thru the news.

Hamas has stopped making its medium range missiles that have reigned terror on border towns. They now are mass producing longer range missiles of 25 kilometers with warheads of up to 3 Kilo, 50% larger than older payloads. These production lines are also going up under the noses of the Israeli forces in the West Bank.

This is chilling news for Israel and proponents of the proposed summit. What this ostensibly means is that the minute the summit starts ( if it does ) there will be a unprecedented missile barrage that will cause havoc in southern Israel. The Israeli military will have its hands tied as Olmert will find it difficult to tell the Israeli army to enter Gaza while in Annapolis talking peace. This may show many the absurdities of the talks and the weakness of the Israelis negotiating partner.

The main players seem to have much at stake in the holding of these talks. President Bush would like to be seen in a election year as a peace maker and not just a war monger. The US secretary of state Condi Rice needs some tangible successes in her post that she has not had yet. Prime Minister Olmert wants to focus The Israeli public away from all his criminal investigations and Abu Mazen would like to establish himself as the true leader of the Palestinians after Arafat.

The problem is that the summit is doomed even before it gets started; the expected Hamas onslaught is just the icing on the cake.

Its going to be a big mess.
