Bledsoe, who lost his quarterback job to Tony Romo after having an up and down season with the Cowboys and was one of a number of aging players cut Thursday as teams adjusted their rosters to get more salary cap room for the free agent period that begins today. Bledsoe, who just turned 35 , was the No. 1 overall pick by New England in 1993. Bledsoe was featured many times on the cover of sports illustrated. If he is picked up by another team it will be his fourth after New England Buffalo and Dallas He was invited back by owner Jerry Jones, although he is sure to be a backup at a reduced salary. "I spoke with Drew today and told him that this was primarily a cap decision and that the door was very much open for him being a part of our future," Jones said. "Drew has been a solid leader for our team and a true professional both on and off the field." Bledsoe has been involved with a number of charitable causes in the different cities he has lived |
