Google is staying on top with a blending method in its new Google universal search

Universal search- the future of search

Have you ever wanted to look something up from a book or magazine and used Google? What happened? Probably nothing as the results you may have received were not what you were looking for. Google may have put a set of results on the top of the page calling it ONEBOX that may have zeroed in on your real search.  That solution is not a prime one however as searchers did not take this ONEBOX seriously and usually only looked at the regular search results.  Google then introduced a blending method which would combine all results and show the most relevant results. That might include that part of book or magazine you had been looking for in the first place. This has been called blending. This doesn’t mean that the ONEBOX will disappear; it just means Google now inserts the ONEBOX where for whatever reason the blending method was not used.

Google to keep its competitors at bay has been constantly trying to improve the search experience for the user. To this end more innovative search options have been used. These included blog group searches and many more categories.  All this being said the need to improve the main Search engine was acute hence this blending system that has really improved the search experience.
