Google is at again

Google is giving its Google news feature an added twist. Its become interactive for those mentioned or participating in the article itself. How will this work?

Something like this.

 
Somebody will write an article on a news site that Google Caches and that article will appear on Google news. The ranking of the article will depend on which key words are used and how competitive they are. After the article is visible the fun starts.

 
Comments can be ostensibly made by interested parties that the article talks about thru a comment option that Google has now introduced. What is all this good for?

This can be advantageous in a number of ways.

 First of all if an article was written by somebody about somebody and you are that somebody, you can comment. You can approve disapprove or say whatever you want. This may allow people to defend themselves from slander and black hat web practices.

This will also help the regular surfer better understand the article and its content as comments from participants will give a more complete picture of the events referred to in the article.

 
The problem seems to lie in how exactly Google can absolutely verify the identity of the new contributors. There will be a e-mail address and phone number or even an address needed for identification. All these can be virtually created with relative ease giving room possibly to non connected people to manipulate and utilize this new service. It is also hard to imagine that Google will really even call all those people that wish to contribute comments.

 Google’s angle in all this is clear. They always need new things to keep way ahead of everyone else but beyond that they will be creating more pages that they can insert adsense which is their big money maker.

 
Hey, this in itself has created a news item that we all should be able to comment as we are the real participants in this.
