War between rival factions in Gaza strip
Hamas has taken over Gaza Strip The predictions of many military experts on the implications of unilaterally withdrawing both from Lebanon and the Gaza strip are manifesting themselves. The Hamas movement has completely taken over the Gaza strip killing or imprisoning all political opponents that have come in their path.. A former Chief of Staff of the Israeli army has restated his dire predictions that forced him to leave the army. He warned then prime minister Ariel Sharon that a hasty exit from the Gaza strip would result in catastrophe for all involved on both sides of the border. Mr. Sharon is unavailable for comment as he has been in a deep coma for some eighteen months.. The situation is so bad that the Fatah is asking Israel to help get its members out of the strip by land sea and even air. Israel is very hesitant to take any role whatsoever in this most extreme conflict and is just waiting in the interim. The Secretary general of theUnited Nations has pledged troops to Gaza to attempt to curb the violence and restore order. That may not work either as the Hamas has pledged to fight any military force that attempts to enter the Strip. After hearing that the UN will be wary of sending peace keeping troops that will be put in the line of fire. The Iranian based Hamas have achieved a major military victory in Gaza and are looking to continue their offensive in Judea/Samaria. The Fatah faction is threatened to fight back the Hamas with full force. No matter how this plays out an Israeli offensive into the strip is just a matter of time. |
